NAVs end with positive gains


For the third consecutive session, funds in Equity, Debt, and Hybrid category remained optimistic as most of the funds closed with positive returns recording very few decline.


Equity funds continued to deliver positive gains in a flat market session. Recording very few decline, all the funds in Equity and Balanced category surged.


In the sectoral space, Banking & Finance and FMCG closed with positive gains while Pharma & Healthcare and Pharma & Healthcare were seen under pressure.


The markets remained in a consolidation phase for the third consecutive session on Wednesday, especially after a smart rally of more than 400 points on last Friday due to European Union Summit. The session ended with BSE gaining 37.10 points to close at 17,462.81 while NSE 14.60 points up at 5,302.55.


The debt funds managed to end with positive returns amid weak market cues. Both Short term and Long term funds advanced with no decline. Mohan Shenoi, Kotak Mahindra Bank said, “Tepid response to FII debt auction by SEBI, rising Brent crude prices, lack of OMOs and supply pressure will make the undertone in bond market bearish”
