Rs 2.2 lakh worth gold ornaments stolen from house
ornaments worth Rs 2.2 lakh were stolen from the house of a contract labourer at Mecheri in broad daylight, police said. They said the man, working in a steel plant, was on double shift duty and returned home this morning to find the jewellery missing. The burglar had gained entry to the house by cuting open the steel grills of the windows with a gas cutter, they said.
